Mountains for the Mind raises £8410!
As well as raising awareness of the importance of the mountains in maintaining mental health, as part of the Mountains for the Mind campaign Trail magazine is also aiming to raise as much money as possible for mental health charity Mind. Thanks to our annual gear sale at Keswick Mountain Festival and a £500 donation from canine supporters Max & Paddy (and puppy Harry) we’ve reached £8410 so far!
Karen Bolton, Head of Community & Events Fundraising at Mind, said: “We are delighted the gear sale at Keswick Mountain Festival raised more than £8,000. We know the positive impact physical activity can have on mental wellbeing so this partnership is a natural fit.
“Our partnership with Trail magazine will help us to reach a point where anyone with a mental health problem feels able to ask for, and access, the help they need. Money raised will fund our vital work including our Mind Infoline, information and advice services, and our campaigning to secure a better deal for the one in four of us who experience a mental health problem every year.”
